What is a Serai?
There is something special about gathering to create, and the table is the perfect place to begin. It is more than somewhere to eat. It is a place to feed community.
It is where ideas are exchanged, stories are shared, strangers become supporters, and ordinary moments become memorable.
For centuries, a Serai was a place along the Silk Road where travelers paused to rest, share meals, exchange goods, and encounter people and cultures different from their own. Business was conducted, stories were told, recipes were discovered, and music and traditions were shared. Small comforts of home were offered so that everyone could experience a familiar warmth.
In these moments, strangers connected, and the influence of those encounters traveled far beyond the walls of the serai, shaping communities and reverberating through cultures across continents.
Our Serai Salon is inspired by that tradition.
We bring together an intimate group of curious, creative, and purposeful people who are building something—whether a business, a body of work, a community, or a more meaningful way forward.
Together, we set out to create something beautiful, break bread, exchange ideas, and engage in expansive conversation about what we are building, where we are going, and the causes that matter to us. The entire experience is rooted in supporting creativity.
There is no audience, just us—open to sparking creativity, connection, and community. Everyone participates. Everyone contributes.
We gather with the belief that when we open our homes, our hearts, and our minds to one another, something unexpected can happen.
Everyone leaves better than they came.
